American Modern Ensemble with Steve on the guitar plays an all-Mackey program at the Tenri Cultrual Institute of New York at 43A W.13th street.

OCTOBER 26,27,28
Jeffrey Kahane and  Colorado Symphony perform Turn the Key at the Boettcher Concert Hall in the  Denver Performing Arts Complex.

NOVEMBER 3
The New World Symphony performs Turn the Key at the Lincoln Theater in Miami Beach Florida.

2008

JANUARY - MAY
Steve will be the Ernst Bloch visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley. He will teach a seminar and give several public lectures and concerts.

FEBRUARY 2
Kokoro, Contemporary Music Ensemble of the Bournemouth Symphony, plays Micro-Concerto at the Lighthouse, Dorset, Poole UK. Kokoro gave the US premiere of the piece in 2001. Sacha Johnson will again be the soloist.

FEBRUARY 7,8,9
The Baltimore Symphony with Marin Alsop will play Time Release with Colin Currie as soloist in Baltimore (7,8) and then Carnegie Hall (9). This will mark Marin Alsop's debut in Carnegie Hall.

MARCH 5
Psappha performs Five Animated Shorts at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music.

Psappha performs Five Animated Shorts at at Lancaster University.

MARCH 18
Hsin-Yun Huang performs Groundswell with Stephen Burns and the Fulcrum Point Ensmble in Chicago.

MAY 7
Psappha performs Five Animated Shorts at Durham University.

Hugh Wolf Conducts the Tokyo Philharmonic at Suntory Hall in Turn the Key.

MAY 16
Hsin-Yun Huang is viola soloist in Groundswell at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan

MAY 27
Steve's new prog-rock band - BIg Farm - debuts at Joe's Pub in New York City. The other members are Rinde Eckert, Jason Trueting and Mark Haanstra.

JUNE 16-19
The Royal Northern College of Music and the BBC Philharmonic host a "Mackey" festival featuring both orchestral and chamber performances.

AUGUST 8
Hsin-Yun Huang performs Groundswell at the La Jolla Summerfest.

OCTOBER 24
Leila Josefowicz gives the world premiere of a new violin concerto written for her with H.K Gruber and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Manchester UK.

NOVEMBER 10
Leila Josefowicz plays Steve's violin concerto with David Robertson and the Saint Louis Symphony.
