Colin Currie premieres a new marimba concerto, Time Release, with the Residentia orchestra in The Hague, Holland.

Colin Currie leads students at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague in performances of chamber music including Feels So Baaad and Jango.

Steve is the BMI composer in residence at Vanderbuilt University where he will teach, lecture and attend a concert of his works on Wednesday October 19.

The members of the American Composers Orchestra performs Micro Concerto with Daniel Druckman as percussion soloist at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia.

FEBRUARY 9
Steve is featured in a composer portrait as part of the "Making Music" series at Zankel Hall. The program will intersperse performances by Steve, the Brentano String Quartet, Mosaic chamber ensemble, and the Prism Saxophone Quartet, with discussions about the compositional process between Steve and artistic director Ara Guzelimian(Zankel is the new theater at Carnegie Hall).

Network for New Music with Cymbalom player Tim Williams, gives the world premiere of Five Animated Shortsat the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia (23rd) and at Taplin Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University (25th).

The New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas directs the world premiere of a new work for Orchestra commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Miami Performing Arts Center, the largest performing arts center to open since Lincoln Center.

Steve will be composer in residence at Jersey Island Festival (off the coast of France) which will include performances of Tuck and Roll and Humble River.

JANUARY 28
Faculty and alumni guitarists from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, including David Tannenbaum, perform the world premiere of Measures of Turbulence, for 5 classical, 2 electric and 1 bass guitar, commissioned to celebrate the opening of a new facility.

Steve and Rinde Eckert perform excerpts from work in progress on a new music theater piece called "Slide" at McCarter Theater in Princeton.

Ground Swell, a concerto for Hsin Yun Huang (viola solo) and 8 instruments including the Brentano String Quartet, receives its world premiere at the Aspen Music Festival.
