Steve is in residence at the Bennington Chamber Music festival where he will coach amateur musicians in a performance of a new work.

Colin Currie premieres a new marimba concerto, Time Release, with the Residentia orchestra in The Hague, Holland.

SEPTEMBER 18
Colin Currie leads students at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague in performances of chamber music including Feels So Baaad and Jango.

Steve is the BMI composer in residence at Vanderbuilt University where he will teach, lecture and attend a concert of his works on Wednesday October 19.

The Dutch Radio Symphony performs Eating Greens in Utrecht under Henryk Schaeffer conducting.

The members of the American Composers Orchestra performs Micro Concerto with Daniel Druckman as percussion soloist at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia.

FEBRUARY 9
Steve is featured in a composer portrait as part of the "Making Music" series at Zankel Hall. The program will intersperse performances by Steve, the Brentano String Quartet, Mosaic chamber ensemble, and the Prism Saxophone Quartet, with discussions about the compositional process between Steve and artistic director Ara Guzelimian(Zankel is the new theater at Carnegie Hall).

Steve performs the solo guitar version of Heavy Light with the San Francisco Ballet, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. (See www.sfballet.org/calendar).

Steve is featured composer at the “Imagine” festival at the University of Memphis in Memphis Tennessee. Performances will include Micro Concerto and Physical Property.

Network for New Music with Cymbalom player Tim Williams, gives the world premiere of Five Animated Shortsat the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia (23rd) and at Taplin Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University (25th).

The New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas directs the world premiere of a new work for Orchestra commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Miami Performing Arts Center, the largest performing arts center to open since Lincoln Center.

Steve will be composer in residence at Jersey Island Festival (off the coast of France) which will include performances of Tuck and Roll and Humble River.

Steve performs solo at Bergen County Community College.

The Swedish Chamber Orchestra conducted by HK Gruber performs Time Release with Colin Currie as percussion soloist.

JANUARY 28
Faculty and alumni guitarists from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, including David Tannenbaum, perform the world premiere of Measures of Turbulence, for 5 classical, 2 electric and 1 bass guitar, commissioned to celebrate the opening of a new facility.

Steve and Rinde Eckert perform excerpts from work in progress on a new music theater piece called "Slide" at McCarter Theater in Princeton.

The Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, conducted by Thierry Fischer performs Time Release with Colin Currie as percussion soloist.

The Brentano and Borromeo String Quartets perform an all-Mackey program including ars moriendi, Lude and his string octet Gaggle and Flock.

Steve Performs Deal with the American Composers Orchestra at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia (25) and at Zankel Hall (26) with Dennis Russell Davies conducting.

The Cheltenham InternationalFestival in England presents an all Mackey program performed by Psappha, inlcuding the European Premiere of Five Animated Shorts for Cimbalom and small ensemble.

Ground Swell, a concerto for Hsin Yun Huang (viola solo) and 8 instruments including the Brentano String Quartet, receives its world premiere at the Aspen Music Festival.
